As a CNC Machine Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the precision machining operations and driving excellence in aerospace and complex component manufacturing.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a team of CNC machinists, technicians, and support staff, fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily CNC machining operations, ensuring equipment setup, calibration, and optimization for high-precision production runs.
  • Act as a liaison between engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100) through robust quality control processes, including inspections and the use of advanced measurement tools such as CMMs.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs for CNC equipment, addressing mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce cycle times, and lower costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Play a pivotal role in managing budgets, monitoring operational costs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machining processes.

The ideal candidate for the CNC Machine Shop Manager role will bring extensive experience in precision machining operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards in aerospace and complex component manufacturing:

  • Expertise in CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, and high-precision applications, with a strong understanding of materials, tooling, and programming (e.g., G-code, CAM software).
  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring teams, fostering accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in quality control adhering to industry standards such as AS9100, with a solid grasp of GD&T, blueprint reading, and advanced measurement tools like CMM.
  • Operational excellence in maintaining production efficiency, troubleshooting CNC machines, and driving cost-effective manufacturing without compromising on quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles, optimizing machining accuracy and ensuring compliance with complex specifications.
  • Proven impact on improving OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through strategic planning, machine optimization, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, ensuring precise execution of complex machining tasks and adaptability to production needs.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, leveraging Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance processes and reduce waste.
